Results from The Oaks Society Day 29th June 2007

After all the recent weather we got away with a full days almost rain free golf on a fine course near Bubwith. The loosener was won by the team consisting of Jonny Hirst, Ray Alderson and Andy Pybus who, on a two to score per hole basis, carded a ten under par score for the morning nine hole competition. The serious business in the afternoon was to prove that all three had shot their collective bolts and the way was left open for Mike Biddles to storm home with a more than creditable 37 points just edging out Captain Keeney and his near neighbour the Laird of Elvington, Colin Hardaker.
Twos were recorded by Simon Pepperell, Mike Biddles, the Laird and Alan Edson. Bruce Savage won the nearest the pin competiton (pity that he then three putted due to the shock!!) whilst the Laird rounded of a good day for him by booming the longest drive down the 18th.
Great day out on a great course despite the recent deluge
